Croton -on- Hudson

The ice and snow was melting quickly along the Hudson River on Christmas Day.

You have to get the sledding in whenever you can.

Christmas Day in Peekskill ~2

Happy Holidays from Peekskill, New York!

Besides a jolly parade, there were plenty of people on the street going to and from church, to and from friend's houses, to and from family gatherings. Some food markets and restaurants were open and everyone was in a warm and cheery mood. Peace on Earth Good Wishes to All.

Hudson Valley Goats

Spent a couple of hours on a hidden-away farm up on a mountain ridge somewhere... some of the goats were former abandoned pets and they were certain someone was going to come to take them back to their former high-status lives where they got petted a lot and were part of the family. You could tell which goats were the former pets.

Please take me with you! I don't know what happened, why I'm here, but I belong with a family! I'll just wait in the car...

The Palisades of the Hudson

Today we enjoyed a view of Yonkers, NY from the top of Palisades Cliffs at Alpine NJ. The Palisades start across the Hudson from NYC, continue north through the Hudson River Valley to Newburgh, NY. There are scenic lookouts all along the way, including a hiking trail and many parks. Hiking the entire way is possible, although we've only done loop hikes here and there.
